Bristol is alive with live music once again this week. Whether electronic beats float your, ahem, Cloud Boat or old fashioned rock and roll gets your pulse racing, there will be something going on for you. Here are this weeks live picks.
Monday 4th March – The Blood Choir @ The Fleece
We start the week at The Fleece where local band The Blood Choir will be performing a support slot to Captain Beefheart fame legends The Magic Band. Playing atmospheric indie rock, the band released their debut album No Windows To The Old World in 2012, featuring the magnificent single ‘Horror Head’.
Doors @ 7:30PM
Thursday 7th – Scholars @ Stag & Hounds
Scholars prepare for the release of debut album Always Lead, Never Follow by heading out on a full UK tour. Opening in Bristol, the band are famed for their raucous and energetic live shows. Perfect to start the weekend a tad early.
Doors @ 8PM
Saturday 9th – Cloud Boat @ Start The Bus
The Glitchy beats of Cloud Boat round of the week. Steadily building a big reputation thanks to high profile support slots for the likes of James Blake and promising early single ‘Lions On The Beach’, this should be the only way to spend your Saturday night. Support also comes from the highly rated Post War Years. My pick of the week.
